Celebrating the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne in Ranong Province, 1996.

The history of the construction of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva statue at Saranee Island, Pak Nam Subdistrict, Ranong Province,
 stems from the idea of ​​Mr. Karun Kositsakul, the owner of Chansom Beach Resort, Hat Chan Damri, while serving as the president of the Ranong Tourism Business Association around 1995, to find activities to promote tourism in Ranong Province (in addition to natural hot spring bathing, which Mr. Karun Kositsakul initiated by introducing hot mineral water to the Chansom Thara Hotel, which was the first to create a reputation for tourism in Ranong Province since then).
   Mr. Karun Kositsakul thought that there should be other tourist attractions as well. Therefore, he initiated the project to build the Guan Yin Bodhisattva statue at Saranee Island (Phi Island), Pak Nam Subdistrict, for the province to consider. After being approved by the province as one of the Ranong province's projects to celebrate the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the King's accession to the throne in 1996, he collaborated with Ranong Province and the Ranong Songkhro Foundation. (Pong Lai Jab Ik Siao Ko) and private organizations, associations and clubs in Ranong Province have been working on the project since then.
   In the first phase of the project, the Guan Yin statue will be 16 meters or 50 feet high, with a dragon 150 feet long. Then, the project committee raised funds and hired Pranda Jewelry Co., Ltd. to produce Guan Yin Bodhisattva amulets in various sizes for the faithful to rent and worship. The consecration ceremony for the amulets was held on March 23, 1996 (the fifth Saturday) at the Ranong Songkhro Foundation. 50 famous and qualified monks from every region attended the ceremony daily for 9 days and 9 nights. Somdej Phra Buddhacarya (Kiew Upaseno), the abbot of Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan and Acting Supreme Patriarch, was invited to preside over the lighting of the victory candle.
   However, due to the large-scale project requiring more than 100 million baht in funds, coupled with the economic downturn in 1997, the amulets available for rent and worship did not meet the target. Furthermore, several governors in Ranong Province changed, resulting in inconsistent progress. Consequently, the project was unable to be completed as originally planned. However, the private sector committee continued to pursue the project. Finally, in
   late 2002, the Tek Ka Charity Association of Thailand received a command from Arhat Ji Gong to establish the Tek Ka Shrine, or "Tek Ka" (morality center) in Ranong Province, behind the Hok Tek Si Shrine, opposite Ming Sin School. The opening ceremony was held on December 14, 2002. Members from Tek Ka Associations nationwide attended the event. Arhat Ji Gong traveled to Jansom Beach Resort on Chan Damri Beach, performed a trance, and issued a divine command to proceed with the construction of the Guan Yin Bodhisattva statue, with a scaled-down version to reflect the prevailing economic climate.
   Since then, the people of Ranong have been generous and charitable to members of the Tekka Association nationwide, particularly the Tek Ka (Tek Ka) Ethics Center in Jijin Island, Bangkok. They jointly donated money and cast an 8-meter-tall bronze statue of the Bodhisattva Guanyin for the people of Ranong to be enshrined on Saranee Island. A ceremony to invite the Bodhisattva Guanyin to Saranee Island was held, along with an eye-opening ceremony for the Bodhisattva Guanyin. The ceremony was graciously presided over by Phra Khru Ranangkhanarak, the abbot of Suwannakiri Temple and the current provincial ecclesiastical chief of Ranong Province, and presided over by Mr. Bandit Rattanasampan, the deputy governor of Ranong Province, as the lay president on January 3, 2004. This was achieved
through the cooperation, unity, and dedication of the entire committee of the Guanyin Bodhisattva construction project, the Tek Ka (Tek Ka) Ethics Center in Jijin Island, Ranong, and, most importantly, the people of Ranong, government agencies, and all relevant private sectors. as well as all the faithful who have contributed to the construction fund, enabling Ranong Province to bring the majestic Guanyin Bodhisattva statue to Saranee Island, in accordance with the project's intentions and objectives, to bring good fortune and enhance the prosperity of the people of Ranong up until the present day.
