The Constitution Protection Medal is a royal medal for bravery awarded to those who helped the government, both military and civilian, in the suppression of the Boworadet Rebellion in 1933. Currently, the bestowal period has expired.
History The old power faction, led by General Prince Boworadet , a high-ranking military officer who lost power after the 1932 Revolution, was dissatisfied and staged a rebellion on October 11, 1933, which ended in defeat.
After that, the government of Phraya Phahon Phonphayuhasena (Phon Phahonyothin ) and the House of Representatives met to propose the Constitution Protection Medal Act as a reward for those who helped the government, both military and civilian, in the suppression of the Boworadet Rebellion. It was then presented to His Majesty the King. King Prajadhipok to sign the royal name and announced for use on December 9, 1933.
The coin is a square coin, 23 millimeters wide on each side.
The front side has an image of the constitution book placed on a two-tiered tray, inside a circle of Chaipruk garlands, radiating throughout the area.
The back side has an image of Phra Siam Devadhiraj holding a sword in a pose of executing enemies, standing above the words "Suppress the Rebellion, B.E. 2476" above the bottom edge, under a ring with the words "Protect the Constitution". A silk ribbon in the colors of the Tricolour flag, 28 millimeters wide, hanging from the ribbon is a blackened copper pin with the words "Sacrifice for the Nation".
