History of construction
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of His Majesty's accession to the throne, the Ministry of Interior (at that time General Chavalit Yongchaiyudh was the Minister) appointed a committee to create commemorative coins, with Mr. Prabhas Bunyindee as the committee's secretary and many qualified persons participating in the work.
