If you've been looking for it, I highly recommend it.On the occasion of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX, in 1996, the Bank of Thailand deemed it appropriate to issue commemorative banknotes to honor this auspicious occasion.
This commemorative banknote is one of three types of commemorative banknotes printed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). This commemorative banknote is a 50-baht denomination and is also in circulation. Its special feature is that it is the first circulating banknote to use a polymer printing material, instead of the usual paper used in the past, representing a novelty in the use of banknotes in Thailand.
The BoT announced the issue on September 24, 1996 and began exchanging on December 3, 1996 at a price of 50 baht.
Polymer banknotes are a novelty for Thailand, while some other countries widely use them. The obvious advantage is that they are more difficult to counterfeit. Furthermore, polymer banknotes have a longer lifespan than paper banknotes, making them more cost-effective compared to paper banknotes that deteriorate quickly. This therefore marks the first trial of polymer banknotes in Thailand.
The design of this commemorative banknote is based on the design of the 50 baht circulating banknote, Series 13, but there are two differences from the Series 13 banknote:
In addition, there are features invisible to the naked eye: the banknote serial number and a message that appears when illuminated with an ultraviolet light. This message, located above the English letters and the Arabic banknote number, reads: "We shall rule the land with righteousness, for the happiness of the great people of Siam."
The first commemorative polymer banknote was produced in a quantity of 100 million copies and circulated for a period before the 50-baht polymer banknote (Type 15) was printed and put into circulation the following year.

Front side of the banknote - This special commemorative banknote has the same design and size as the 50-baht banknote, Series 13, but is printed on polymer material and features the emblem of the 50th Anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne instead of the traditional decorative pattern.
Back of the banknote - has the same appearance and size as the 50 baht banknote, Series 13.
