This Phra Phuttha Chinnasri amulet was consecrated by Somdej Yannasangworn, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, at Wat Bowonniwet on March 12, 2535 BE (1992 AD).

Phra Phuttha Chinnasi is one of the important Buddha images of the northern provinces. It was created at the same time as Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, Phra Sri Sasada, and Phra Luea. Originally, it was enshrined in the northern vihara of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Phitsanulok Province. Later, the vihara fell into disrepair and lacked restoration. Therefore, Somdej Phra Boromraj Chao Maha Sakdiphonseph ordered it to be moved to Wat Bowonniwet Vihara in 2372 BE (1829 CE).
Phra Phuttha Chinnasi is a bronze Buddha statue in the Maravijaya posture (victory over Mara), in the Sukhothai style. The name Chinnasi is derived from the words "China," meaning victory, and "Siha," meaning lion or king of lions. Therefore, Chinnasi means "Lord who conquers defilements," symbolizing the Buddha's victory over all defilements.
