The Supreme Patriarch presided over the Buddha Abhiseka and Mangala Abhiseka ceremonies at the Ubosot of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara, Bangkok on December 2, 2550. Objectives of creation : 1. To serve as a memorial and a sacred object of worship for the people of Thailand, Buddhists, in commemoration of the gracious Thai King, the supreme patron of Buddhism, ordaining as a monk in Buddhism . 2. To serve as a memorial and a thank you to those who donated to the restoration of the Chedi enshrining the relics of the Lord Buddha, as a royal tribute. On the auspicious occasion of His Majesty's 80th birthday, 5 December 2007. 3. It is an auspicious object of worship and remembrance for the people.
