His Majesty's 50th anniversary of his reign (June 9, 1996)
He is considered the longest-reigning Thai monarch in Thai history.
Gold coin commemorating the Golden Jubilee, face value 6000 baht. Issued on March 6, 1996.
Front side - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej wearing royal regalia and a ceremonial robe, facing forward. Around the edge of the coin is the inscription "His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Siamindraraj Boromnatbophit, Rama IX".
The reverse side features the royal emblem commemorating the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty the King's 50th anniversary of accession to the throne. Around the outer edge of the coin is the inscription "50th Anniversary of His Majesty the King's Accession to the Throne, Golden Jubilee, June 9, 1996, Thailand" followed by the denomination in numerical order.
