His Majesty's 50th anniversary of accession to the throne (9 June 1996)
He is considered the longest-reigning Thai monarch in Thai history.
Golden Jubilee Coin, denomination 6000 baht, Effective date: March 6, 1996
Front - His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej wearing the royal regalia and academic robes, with a straight face. Around the edge of the coin is the inscription "His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, King Rama IX"
On the reverse side - there is the royal emblem of the Golden Jubilee Ceremony, celebrating the 50th anniversary of His Majesty's accession to the throne. Around the outer edge of the coin is the text "Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of His Majesty's Accession to the Throne, Golden Jubilee, 9 June 1996, Thailand" and the respective denomination numbers.
