Banknote information : The  5 baht banknote type 8 is a banknote produced by the United States when World War II just ended. The banknotes are printed with a wet offset system, front 4 color printing, back 2 color printing, US Army printing paper intended for printing banknotes used in occupied regions of Europe after the war. Paper texture therefore has a watermark "MILITARY AUTHORITY", and when this watermarked paper runs out, use unwatermarked paper. But to prevent counterfeiting and as a point of subsequent checks by printing the sequence of positions of the banknotes in black ink, numbers 1 - 70 in the lower right corner of the banknotes. This 5 baht banknote, type 8, was announced on 21 November 1946

Front side.    An important element is the portrait of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol on the left. In the middle is a picture of Phra Pathom Chedi. There is a picture of the three-headed elephant Irapot in the lower right corner. The numbering section follows the pattern of the US banknote, which uses 8 digits, with a Roman alphabet on the front and back.
