This copper coin,
25 mm in diameter,
was given away free to children participating in activities organized by the Treasury Department
on National Children's Day, a tradition held annually by the Treasury Department.
The motto for National Children's Day 1999 was
"Diligence, Frugality, Honesty, and Discipline,"
as declared by Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai.
