In 2014 to celebrate Marvels The Avengers, the New Zealand Mint released a very special Limited Issue Thor $2 Two Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one ounce of pure Silver.
The reverse of the coin features Thor in full colour while the obverse depicts Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The coin includes a special state of the art 3-D Colour Bio-Card, specially designed label pin and comes housed in an individual tin.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
