Perth Mint has been minting the popular Lunar Series of silver coins since 1999. The coins commemorate the 12-year Chinese Lunar Calendar. The production of the first series of silver coins ended in 2007, after gold coins for Series I of the Lunar Series ran from 1996 to 2007. Perth Mint has been producing its Series II coins since 2008.
The silver coins produced for the Lunar Series are ranging between 1/2 oz for the smallest coin up to a gigantic 10 kg coin.
