Description

Discover the allure of the 2009 Aurora Australis Proof Coin, a striking $5 silver proof honoring Australia’s Antarctic connection. This coin features a vivid hologram design that brings the Aurora Australis to life, shifting colour as you move it. Ernest Shackleton’s ship, the Nimrod, appears with expedition details and penguins, creating a memorable Antarctic scene. Struck as a proof issue, it offers crisp relief and a polished finish that collectors look for. Issued for 2009, it also includes the official obverse inscriptions with Queen Elizabeth II and “5 Dollars.” A confident choice for polar-themed collections and modern silver proof sets.
