Description
The Sydney 2000 Olympic Coin Program is a joint venture between the Royal Australian Mint and The Perth Mint to commemorate the Olympic Games in Sydney in the Year 2000. The sixteen coins in the Silver Coin Series feature two distinct themes: Australia's cultural diversity and the environmental richness of the Australian continent. Each Silver coin carries the Sydney 2000 signature with rings in colour and is edge- lettered with the words 'Games of the XXVII Olympiad'. The Obverse of each coin carries the image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Year '2000', the country of issue, 'Australia', and the monetary denomination.
