The commemorative coin of the royal visit to the United States and Europe
was commissioned by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great on the occasion of the King and Queen’s visit to the United States and Europe, totaling 15 countries, from June 14, 1960, until returning to Bangkok on January 18, 1961 , in order to show their loyalty to His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen. This coin is considered a royal decoration, a type of commemorative coin. It can be worn by the general public and government officials to commemorate His Majesty’s great kindness and generosity in performing royal duties that are of great benefit to the nation and its people for more than 70 years.
