Front – A portrait of Her Majesty the Queen, wearing a royal robe, facing left. On the left edge is the inscription “Her Majesty Queen Sirikit” and on the right edge is the inscription “Her Majesty the Queen”.
Reverse – Two curved frames. The left frame depicts a farmer woman wearing a straw hat planting rice. The right frame depicts a woman weaving on a loom. Between the upper frames, the text is in Roman letters “CERES.” Between the lower frames, the text “FAO.” On the left edge, the text reads “12th AUGUST 1980 THAILAND.” The lower edge shows the price in Thai and English.

This coin was produced to commemorate the occasion when the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations paid tribute by placing the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit on the CERES coin, which was created by the organization to honor women who have dedicated their lives and work to uplifting and improving the status of women, especially women in rural areas, every year.
